MY STORY
This work chose me as much as I chose it.
Over 23 years ago, I got sober. I won’t pretend I fully understood what I was saying yes to — only that something in me knew I had to. What followed wasn’t just the absence of substances. It was the beginning of a life I never could have orchestrated on my own. Grace doesn’t announce itself. It just keeps showing up.
But sobriety was only the beginning of the work. What followed were years of encountering my own versions of failure to launch — in different forms, at different stages of life. Romantic relationships where I kept running the same patterns until I finally saw them clearly. Business ventures that didn’t go the way I planned, and the hard lessons in resilience and identity that came with that. The humbling reality of parenthood, and learning that love alone doesn’t make you adequate to the task.
In each of these, I had a choice: perform recovery or actually do the work. I chose the work — and that meant unlearning patterns that had kept me safe but also kept me stuck. It’s ongoing. I’m still in process of becoming. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I realized this wasn’t just my story to live. It was my calling to share.
The secret I keep finding — in my own life and in the lives of the people I work with — is that just on the other side of the life you’re refusing to let go of is a life you never knew was possible. Not just better. Often beyond anything you could have imagined.
That’s what I mean when I say I understand this territory from the inside. I’m not someone who studied these struggles and then built a practice around them. I lived them. I still live some version of them. What I didn’t expect — and what I can only describe as a gift — is how much meaning I find in being of service to others walking the same road. This work fills me. Not despite the difficulty of it, but because of it. I’ll be honest — there are days it’s daunting, and I have to remind myself of that truth all over again. But that’s the reminder that keeps it real. The fulfillment isn’t in having arrived. It’s in showing up anyway.
Over 15 years of clinical practice — spanning private practice, wellness technology, and operations leadership — I’ve worked with hundreds of individuals. My focus has settled where the need runs deepest: men navigating midlife transitions, high-achieving adults who’ve hit a ceiling they can’t think their way through, and parents watching their adult children struggle to launch.
I run a private practice in Coral Gables alongside my wife. I’m still in it. This isn’t theoretical for me.
Science and soul. Strategy and presence.
I integrate evidence-based modalities — EMDR, Neurofeedback, Imago Therapy — with somatic awareness and a genuine belief that healing isn’t just cognitive. The body holds what the mind tries to skip past. We work with both.
My goal isn’t to help you manage your symptoms more efficiently. It’s to help you understand why the patterns are there, interrupt them at the root, and build an inner life that actually supports the outer one you’re trying to create.
Sessions are available in person in Coral Gables or online.
